Do's and Dont's

To ensure that the review will be as successful as possible, all Gateway Reviewers should keep the following list of do's and donts in mind.

Do

1. Conduct the review in an organised manner utilising the range of support material underpinning the Gateway Initiative

2. Conduct all discussions with stakeholders and the project team in a professional, focussed, and respectful manner

3. Recognise and respect the work done to date and highlight exemplars of good practice

4. Ensure that the Review Team that is united in its purpose

5. Be cognisant of the aims of the Gateway Review Process, and the aims and objectives of the specific gate.

Don't

1. Focus on negative aspects of the project or program under review

2. Focus on individual issues of concern to members of the Review Team

3. Adopt an aggressive or inquisitorial demeaner when dealing with the project team or stakeholders.

4. Be focused on finding problems and errors

5. Arrive late to the Planning Day or any Day of the Review - they usually have very tight schedules and cant afford to get off to a late start.

6. Let scheduled interviews run over the allocated time and leave the next interviewee waiting.
